Specials Review

Sunday, September 14th, 2008

The Specials by Scott Westerfield is a fantastic book. It is loaded with tons of action, adventure, mystery, romance and futuristic technology. It is New York Times Bestseller, and the third in the Uglies series. Don’t miss this out, because this one will keep you interested starting on the cover. Always Judge a book by its cover. (LOL) I would recommend The Specials to anyone looking for a breathtaking book to read. Happy reading, and please post your reviews on the Specials below.

Without writing, you can’t read this sentence!

Humans enjoy writing. We write to express our thoughts and to reveal what we hold deepest in our hearts. Without doing so, all of these feelings would be jumbled in our heads, and we would always be having headaches. Can you imagine a life without writing? I couldn’t, because writing is crucial to history. The only alternative is to have an oral tradition, but this would mean history will change over time. Therefore oral tradition is not very efficient. Without writing, we would not be able to accurately learn history, and we would not be able to learn from our mistakes! Also, without writing there would be no books, and thus we would not be able to gain knowledge so easily. Writing is also one of the most efficient methods of communication, including email and instant messaging. Thanks to writing, we can stay in touch with friends and family no matter where we are. In fact, you would be able to read this unless writing was possible!

If you want to have great writing, then you should think about using famous quotes.

Can you make a difference?

My Difference

Once I finish college I plan to become a scientist or an engineer. I hope to invent something which millions of people would use in their everyday lives, because they wish to raise their standard of living. The difference I make would not occur immediately, it would occur gradually. Along the process, I will wind up not only gaining knowledge from the research I do, but also at the same time I will be contributing my knowledge in the form of a keepsake that the world treasure. Every day new inventions are created. Who do you think made or designed that invention? Did it fall from the sky? Inventions do not grow on trees! It took the efforts of a scientist who wished to better the world through an invention. Even though it takes only one person to invent something useful, the result of the invention benefits many people. In this way, I will make a difference.
